I was thinking something like that, too, but it looks like an optical illusion, caused by the reflection on the boiler.

Hm see what you mean, the Smokebox Handrail is well bent too. I know that the Smokebox is somewhat loose. I have just recently been doing some work on it fitting up with 2.4 GHz Radio. But it is straight now. Curious.
