British Railways Jackson Sharpe coaches

Too much of a good thing is nearly enough.

Another step forward in removing the American side of the railway was completed today. I had a pair of Jackson Sharpe coaches some years ago in 2010, which had been customised with seating and painted into the now disbanded Pakefield Joint Railway livery of chocolate and cream.

I had acquired a further pair in 2012, but they remained in Pennsylvania colours as arrived as at the time I had locomotives to haul them.

I never did like the etched glazing in the Pennsys, so they been replaced with clear glass and interiors fitted, and the four cars have been outshopped in British Railways maroon with cream edged black lining. I think it suits them very well as a short four coach rake and they have a secure future on my line. Totally fictitious of course before anyone asks.

The first ones remind me of the Marazion camping coaches

I can see the similarity with that old Mersey Railway stock MRail. Amazing American styling.....it has given my a thought or two for a conversion.

I already have a Metro service in operation, based somewhat loosely on the Immingham Tramway but using BR Blood and Custard colours instead of green.
