The Strassenbahn has about 25 feet of elevated trackage running along the backscene. During 2010 we ran US stock, and an HLW interurban worked the 'El'. After mucho grumbling from the staff, 2011 will be a European year. Trouble is, theres nothing left in the stock cabine to work the 'S' bahn. After a trip on the old Lausanne Ouchy line, I rather liked the idea of a little box cab towing a coach or two. Anyway, years ago I was given a sawn off chunk of an LGB bogie coach, so I've started to recycle it into a Nonesuch !
This is as far as I got over the Christmas break :

The axleboxes are from Cambrian, the rest is knocked up from the plastikard offcuts pile. The mech will be a Playmobil block from my fast dwindling stash.

Anyway, for the New Year, I thought I'd blast it with the rattle cans and add a few stickers. Thus, it has become Cottam StrassenBahn Ge2/2 no 11.

There is still a way to go - lights, interior, and a bow collector for the roof, but it looks promising enough to carry on with.

A bit of progress at last ! I realised the roof wan't going to do, and one of Alyns tram piccies showed a loco with a couple of air cylinders and a pantograph. I've added a driver and a bit of an interior, so I think it looks a bit better. More detailing to go, and then the trailer to finish....

Great job, and a good use of those coach body parts.

Oh, very nicely done, that really looks the part. The be-rivetted appearance of the LGB coach bits is just right.

That roof detail is the biz. Very nice job. Looking forwrd to seeing the trailer coach later.

:thumbup:certinly looks the part davied, nicely done!!

A very nice loco, I will look through my photos and post a couple of works tram/locos.The "car-like" contraption is a towed snowplough!!! Alyn

THat's a great piece of work you have done there David

I never realised there were sooo many variations on a theme

Excellent, I wouldnt call it a Nonsuch, its very very believable and in character with those types of small electric motor units.

Brilliant, also some great photos from Mole - I love the timber bodied tram shown last:bigsmile:

I thought that "car-like thing" that Alyn posted was for 4x4 jousting, but I've just seen it's a towed snowplough. How's that work, then? Surely whatever is towing the snowplough has to break through the drifts itself, first.

Sorry, thread drift.

Excellent ! I've been pondering on what to do with a spare LGB powered tender, you may have just inspired me!
Cheers Garry

New Haven Neil its a shame LGB did not produce that little RhB boxcab electric !
