Battery power for carriage lights

Hi folks,
has anyone tried powering the internal LED lights of LGB RhB carriages using battery power in place of track power? I thought maybe 2 x 9V (PP3) batteries in series wired to the axle take-offs??

I think you will find a single 9V battery, will be more than adequate.

It depends...

Are you analogue or DCC?
If analogue, you get 0V to whatever.
If DCC, you get whatever your CS is set to.

The lights should work on either system.
But if you have a decoder in the lighting system, it will require around 5-6V to wake-up the electronics.
