Banking as it should be done- Video

- at first I didn't bother to watch it as I thought it was about Lehmann Brothers, but then I found it much more interesting...

Very good! Anyone know the term for this banking- when joining and separating is done in motion like the old days? Fly banking?

In America they call it 'cutting off on the fly'.
Quite often a box of tricks called Helper Link does it automatically, the old way was rather dangerous as the brakeman had to reach out to shut the cocks as the train was moving or stop and then disconnect.
Because the helper brake pipes need connecting to the train, Helper Link connects the brake pipes via radio so if the road engineer sets a certain pressure the radio sets the helper to the same pressure, Helper Link also pulls the coupler pin.
