It was nice to see sections under construction, and the fact the public could get up-close.. So many of these things are behind glass, or you are kept a distance away.

So we are talking 1:31.25 then, are we ? (1000 mm divide by 32 mm). Is this "fine scale" for EU NG fans ? Learn something new each day. Now you mention it the stock does look a little small to be 1:22.5 when looking at the hands of Gods'. Max.

This one says 0m which is 1:45 although looking around it appears to vary - 7mm to the foot in the UK, 1/48 in America and can mean 1/43 to 1/48.

Yes it's 1:45 which is European O

I'm using a mix of 1:43 and 1:45 scenic bits on mine and as long as there's a bit of separation it looks good, even a bit of forced perspective with the 1:43 stuff at the front

Nice character to the modules, I like that sort of modelling. I think the sound would start to drive me nuts quite rapidly though.

Still a small layout compared to the N gauge modular systems I've been involved with in Stuttgart in past years (still got the "500m" t-shirt somewhere!)

Is this the same scale as the Fama stuff that was made years ago.an FO rack loco I seem to remember. Who makes it now?

The stuff went through Utz, Fama, Roco Aplinline then a separate Alpinline that closed down a couple of years ago. Bemo have just started producing Om RhB and while it's expensive, slightly more so than the LGB versions, it's nothing compared to the brass models seen on the video. They start in the 2-3 thousands for locos!

I remember seeing the Utz models in our little model shop in Folkestone back in the 80s. Lost track of them after they were Fama, but doesn't surprise me they went to Roco. They always struck me as a "nice" size.
