Back in the Hobby

Hi All, After a long time away due to various things, I now have time to return to the hobby, however, time has not been kind to a number of Stainz locos that were on display in the lounge about 35 of the 75 I own, They are filthy, whats the best of cleaning, physically seperate the blocks and wash the bodies?, Thoughts guys
 
With Playmobil I would do that and run the plastic parts through the dishwasher on the economy setting. If the dust is very heavy, it may be worthwhile brushing or wiping the worst off first.

Now I can dust-off all those 'Stainz projects', and find the right answers! :)
 
I've brushed the dust off, but underneath seams a layer of residue, thats stubborn, almost want to spray the bodies with some sort of degreaser

Yep it's me, anything on 2010,2020, and early 2040's fire away I've likely got one, owning virtually all the production varients and lots of the specials
 
Welcome back, those cheep free sponge shoe cleaners that you sometimes get free in hotels are a good source of cleaning and bringing back the new sheen on scanty gunk covered Locomotives. Look forward to seeing your Stainz collection again.
 
Have you tried wet wipes. Or the more hardier industrial hand wipes? The degrease on those is obviously good enough to remove grime, but not strong enough to do damage to plastic parts
 
Dry dust.. Dry new paint brush
.. Sticky stuff.. Wet wipes...
If it's a waggon /coach wash it
