Bachmann tipper wagon help

Can anyone shed any light on what the little 'H' shaped bits are for on the Bachmann tipper wagon? A while ago I dropped one of the wagons and they were on the floor, so I assumed they had broken off. Have just got the remaining boxed wagons out of storage, one of them had 4 loose in the box so I don't think they did break off after all.

None of the other stored wagons had any loose and I can't see them on the wagons either, so I don't know what they are.

Never seen anything like that on mine, Colin. Sorry. I did have them to bits too, to slap a bit of paint on em and change the couplings.

I've sussed it. Underneath the wagon where the 4 upstands go through the chassis, they fit into the end of the upstand to prevent it being pulled back through. The odd thing is, the one I dropped had them in place and it needed inspection of all the other wagons to find the offending one.
