I'd just like to say thankyou for the help, links, and comments. I got the Bachmann controller off ebay last night - thanks Wandgrudd for the link! and I also got a replacement Crest control unit thanks to Max who'd PM'd me to say he had one if I wanted it - tested and filmed by him. All goods at a great price and are now on the way to me (via No. 2 son's).
