Bachmann Climax .. Some advice?

Hey folks, Have got the DCC bug after having the QSI decoder in my Mallet (it’s awesome!!!).... With that converted the next loco on my list is my Climax... Here is the question!!

Do you guys reckon id be able to cram a QSI Magnum decoder + speaker into the back of the climax??? ... I have seen this website (http://www.girr.org/girr/tips/tips5/climax_tips.html#dcc)

I know the climax is small but I really want to install a DCC sound system without having to hack my locomotive to bits and add switches etc...

Anyhow any advice would be greatly received!!

When I had Climaxes (!!) :o
I fitted ESU Loksound decoders ( QSI were N/A) I dont remeber having any space problems, bit seem to remeber that it was nescessary to use a little of the cab space to locate the speaker, I also think that that the wiring was a little more complex than simply plugging in the decoder as on the K27 & Mallet, but it was not too complex :thumbup:
 
cheer steve, I was going to use the QSI magnum that gives you the wiring attachment (cant remember its real name) ?? hopefully space won’t be a problem ... when you added the ESU loksound decoders did you have make alterations to the locomotive (adding switches etc?)
 
Really? I had heard about the climax being fairly difficult to convert so thats why I have choosen to attack that one first ! ... Yea the QSI chip came from jeremy (dragongscale)
