I wonder if the South Koreans are any more or less difficult to work with than the Chinese? There is a lot of lovely handbuilt brass that comes out of there, including the Dingler locos and the exquisite 0 and 1 gauge stuff from L.H. Loveless.....
I guess China is still the go-to place for cheap plastic moulding, though.

Yes it's all made in China - although in different factories. I was told by the dealer that the reason my W & L Pickering coaches were late and had quality control issues was that they were made in a factory in a part of China that was experiencing labor relations problems. Apparently subsequent coach production was moved back to the locomotive factory where the labor situation is much better.
It's Interesting to note that Accucraft quality control appears to be largely deligated to the country commissioning the models - as you might expect for models of domestic prototypes.
Hopefully, Accucraft's recent aquisition of the legendary Aster company in Japan will result in an all round improvement in design and quality standards.

...as is every single Accucraft/Bowande locomotive of all scales, plus all the rolling stock, plus all of MTH and Lionel, and as were all the Gauge 1 Model company models, now owned by Accucraft UK, AND Tower Models.......................in smaller scales, the Oxford Model Company stuff, Athearn, Walthers and more.
As will the next 'Aster' locomotive, a single-stack version of the Riddles' 9F freight locomotive.
As is is just about every item you can possibly imagine, from cameras to replacement car parts.

I,too, have that Accucraft model, bought in the brass finish and painted by somebody who owned the 'Glendoric Estates'. The Bachmann 'Spectrum' version, although plastic, comes with complete interior, in a number of road names and running numbers, has full interior lantern lights and cost a measly $129.00...
Made in China, of course, like all of Bachmann's stuff.

Yeah, my point was that there is some quite decent stuff made in China - the art of outsourcing production is to be able to manage it. Some firms are better at managing overseas outsourcing than others - LGB made a right hash of it.
Accucraft US have got it sorted, Bachmann have more or less managed it now.
