Bachmann Annie 4-6-0 into something British

A year back I created a version of Douglald Drummonds unbuilt design for an 0-8-0 goods loco
At the time I had a hankering to build a sort of 4-6-0 version. A sort of small wheeled LSWR T14
Anyway having bought a couple of Annie chassis from G Bits and recently completed Maunsell s designed but never built 4-8-0, I set to work on the relatively simple Drummond Paddlebox style 4-6-0
Below are a few pictures of the in build process and the (almost) finished job
I’ve not yet identified a suitable number to allocate to the model
With lock down easing I’m undecided as to what next
I’ve got a couple more chassis and bits
The GER decapod and the MSWJR 2-6-0 Galloping Alice are possibilities?

Nice stuff as ever, Flying15. I think you might find that Galloping Alice is too small for the Bachmann mech. The Beyer Peacock 2-6-0 I built some years ago was constructed using the drawings of this engine in its original form, and it really is very small for a standard gauge Mogul, which is why I reimagined it for 3'6" gauge. I used an LGB Mogul chassis for it which was just about right for a 1:24 scale model. Now the Decapod - that I would like to see! Could you give some details on extending the Bachmann chassis to eight-coupled?

Have you any pictures of your Galloping Alice?
On the extending the Annie chassis to a 4-8-0 here are a few pictures
I use a combination of 1” steel box section, some thin steel plate, some ply and thin plsticard to insulate the bearings and plate from the box section
On the coupling rods, I had some spare Bachmann Rods. These were cut to link just one pair of wheels. I then half housed the retained set and the originals that are driven on the pins of the driven axle/wheel
On some of my other locos I made complete new rods out of 10x4mm steel

It’s all a bit crude but works.

My original thread about the Mogul is still on this site (it's the first post in my profile) but the pictures seem to have gone now so here is a repost of one of them. The loco is still in service and running well. As you can see, I've taken some liberties but the loco is actually buily quite closely to the drawings of MSWJR number 16.

Brilliant builds but do the contacts onto the middle drivers have any purpose?
On my 2 Annies the middle drivers do not touch the track, except perhaps momentarily, as they are smaller in diameter making an Annie effectively into a 4-4-0!

Hi the contacts are on the 4-8-0 chassis
On this the third axles drivers have had their flanges skimmed off and the overall wheel diameter reduced slightly
The fourth new /additional axle having flanged drivers and the contacts (crudely) transfer juice from the wheels of the fourth axle to the original third axle which has the brass contacts between the frames
The 4-8-0 chassis is from my Maunsell designed but never built goods version of the Lord Nelson class

Nice! Exactly what I want to do with a LGB 65019 and a Bachmann Big Hauler 4-6-0 body.
