Bachmann 4-4-0 - Corrosion!?

My 4-4-0 with its lovely brass handrails and boiler bands has been out of its box for a couple of weeks, venturing outside for a little gentle exercise only for an hour or so, and on close inspection I discover that said brasswork is showing distinct signs of tarnish, which has responded only partially to the application of metal polish and elbow grease. Anybody noticed the same?

Yup. Rustins do one, I'll look out for it. But it's a pity Bachmann didn't think of it first.

Had mine, a 2-6-0 sister, for 8 years and no sign of corrosion yet Faulty batch. Is it new or used ? Max.

Bought as new, 3-4 years ago, rarely used by me. It's a bit quick!
