Autumn Aspens in Colorado well not quite, more like Golden Rod in Cambs!

Back in 1994 I visited Colorado, visiting both the Cumbress and Toltec and the Durango and Silverton. I was duly inspired by the Aspens turning and the pictures that I took on that Holiday.

When the Golden Rod was in full bloom last year I wanted to take some pics with my former USA LGB 2-6-0. But somehow or another it never happened, well I was busy sorting stuff. So this year it had to happen, today being a nice bright day I got into action. The first 2 Pictures show the beauty of both Colorado and the Golden Rod in full bloom.

Then the inspiration of a Train with my closest picture that I could make in my Garden.

Then a few more pics to show what else I could manage in the Garden.

Finally a You Tube DVD of some of the line as I was putting the Trains to bed.

Hope you enjoy.

Nice idea, trying to match the real scene with yours.

(but video is marked Private.)

Sorry about the Vid, am having problems with YouTube. Vids that I am uploading from my iMac are all being marked Private. Have revised some and thought that this was not made Private. Will investigate and try to sort ot out.

Nice pics in any case ;D

Aspens...
Reminds me of the guy that thought up the good way to make model Aspen trees for his HO layout. Did the usual wire branch job and used the tiny punchings from the firm's Creed teletype machine yellow tape .
Bought his own machine 2nd hand and went into production.......the rest is history (as they say) Lateral thinking........ ;D

So are Creed teleprinters!! - History that is..

Sigh, in my youth.. I could read punched-tape.
Doubt I could even distinguish letters from numbers now..
::) ;) :D

To Gregh and all the rest of you, Vid should not now be Private. Let me know if it still is please.

Well, since I got rid of the PDP 11, I would have the space!! :o

DCC decoder programming is about the right speed for punched tape!!! ::) ;) :D :D

Nice pictures and videos. But please keep the Goldenrod to yourselves. This has been a tough allergy season so far, here in Pennsylvania. I don't need any more stuff clogging my sinuses.....:swear:

No worries, most of it has been removed over the time since the Vid was made to make way for other works.
