I have a GP40 'hulk' that was stripped bare internally and I would like to reinstate the original electronics and switches to then work with.

Anyone got a set of the innards that they have stripped out for DCC or for Radio control?

Just a wee bump (said the actress...........

Hi Pete
Nice to see you back on the forum mate.
I will try to find some piccies of the bits on the web as I don't have another Aristo GP40 to photograph. I will see if the innards are the same as a new model RS3 as I do have one of those.
As the Gp7 is USA Trains, the electrics are probably not going to be compatible enough to warrant the bodging to make them work in the Aristo GP40.
I will come back to you.

Mike,

Sorry I missed this thread. I stripped out my Cotton Belt GP40 of all its guts some time ago to when I added all the extra SP lighting, DCC and sound. I don't really chuck out these bits so they must be in a box somewhere. How quickly do you need them? If you can wait a while I'll have a look for you.

If I can find them you would be more than welcome to the boards if you want them? I'm not sure about the smoke unit though... I'm away from the railway at the moment but next time I'm home I'd be more than happy to have a sniff about.

Anyway let know and I'll do my best

Hi Gav
That would be very kind of you. I will await your return with bated breath!

Just in case Mike, I have the innards from a USAT's GP30 which I removed for an AW drop in(?)

Cheers Rod.
Hopefully one of the lads will come up trumps with some Aristo GP40 guts but if not I may try your option and see if the lighting etc can match the USAT electroniucs

Is that a complete set of innards, or a complete loco?

Complete loco- Western Maryland one. It is used but in reasonable condition. It is here but I think distance and postage could make it not worthwhile. Just being a pratt!!8D :) :)

The search continues............
