That's what I used with my Aristo Mikado, I forget exactly why but probably to bring the tender a little closer as I run R3 minimum.PhilP said:?Strip of Meccano?
Think I had the same problem with a ?Pacific? (though it was not a Pacific, big Yankee thing).. Bar stuck through the packing / box! :ntpntpntp said:Nah... I took the pin off the Aristo bar when I made up the Meccano replacement. After that I had no use for the original bar and have obviously filed it somewhere very very safe!
I have a feeling I probably made this change simply so that the tender would still fit in the box without having to remove the drawbar. Seem to remember it was too long before, and I can't be bothered with continually unscrewing something every time it goes back in the box!

So rephrasing the original Wanted request:
Does any kind soul have two off pieces of Meccano about 70mm x 12mm x 1.mm they could spare please?
Here's hoping.
