An FA diesel I`m restoring to working order has had a knock, and the bogie pivot frame is damaged, the screws stayed in the pivot disc, breaking the inverted U sliders...

I`ve tried a couple of plastic glues, but they don`t stick...

So really I need another support frame.
A last resort is using a soldering iron to remelt the plastic..trying not to damage the bearing surface..aristo_fa_frame.jpg

Re: Aristo FA diesel, bogie pivot

thanks...good call..will go for a looky...
But there may be other tempting things...I must only buy what I need.

Hmmmm...getting on for £17 with shipping...for one! I would probably buy a couple...
And that`s before Mr Customs adds any charge..

Battered FA diesels can be found in the UK for under £100....I now know that the frame support is also common for Aristo RS3 and U25 diesels...
So finding one of these makes better economic sense....

So...nothing much to loose...
Reglue using Revell liquid Contacta
wait
melt the plastic joints

with a soldering iron....and waft the fumes away...
then etch some lines into the plain surfaces
Clean/degrease all surfaces to be glued...
Add a puddle of E Poxy glue

Wait until tomorrow.....

Here`s hoping...
