I have an Aristo craft Dash 9 that I purchased used. It was previosly upgraded to a Blunami and baterry power. All that appears to work well. My question is regarding the smoke generator. Who ever upgraded the unit did not hook up the smoke generator and I assume it is because a blunami board cannot handle the current. I was thinking on just adding a switch and connecting the smoke unit to the battery. Will this work. What voltage is the smoke unit rated for. Any help would be appreciated.

The Aristocraft smoke unit will top out at about 0.5A at 8V..
Above this the device is self regulating, and will draw less current.

Does your Dash 9 have the original switches? - You could use these to switch power to the smoke circuitry.

No, they took out all of the switches when they put in the blunami. The good news is there is a spot to easily add a switch. My real question is can I tie the smoke generator directly to the 18.5 volt battery thru a switch or do I need to do something to reduce the voltage to 8v?
thank you for taking the time to reply!

I just did my first Aristocrat and they don’t like 18v. I installed a 12v relay with the help of a small simple voltage buck off the Blunami and then a better buck from battery to the rebuilt smoke unit controlling at 12 volts. If you would like the information on the bucks let me know
