Android Devices As Throttles

Just a short(and poorly filmed) video of me testing Wi throttle for Android with a Galaxy Tab. Hoping to get some more routes and an extended roster programmed over the next few days and then get someone to help me film a better video

Witchcraft!!
Very interesting indeed Colin. Am I right in thinking you simply swiped left/ right to get to the different screens to change points/ operate the loco? Can you use multiple phones with a single receiver?

damed clever stuff!!

Witchcraft indeed Peter!
You need an interface connecting your command system to a PC and then as long as you can connect to the same wifi network as that pc you can then run the Engine Driver software on multiple devices at the same time.
You do indeed swipe left and right to select roster/route setting and turnout control. Now here's the clever bit, all the data is held on the PC so at first log in you get all the routes and roster info straight on your device.

I think I've seen the future and it's not bread with garlic on it.....

Are you going to hold a seminar on the new beastie Colin, since you're now Obi Wan of the Apps? Could be a real justification to SWMBO for my Samsung Galaxy "toy"!

I'm sure we can organise a'test' session Peter
I've had the software for a while but didn't get around to setting it up :wits:
Funnily enough I somehow managed to justify a Samsung raiding party based on its railway use too.

It's fairly straightforward Ross, notice I didn't say simple!
As it's an additional controller for an already operating DCC railway you can just hook up and use it by typing in loco and point info manually.
If you take the time to configure it tho it makes operating much easier.

Interesting stuff Shroppy!

Science and witchcraft combined....

Hope it works out for you Shroppy,

I've got a system that allows trains to be controlled by any device that supports a web browser (almost all of them).

I havn't used this system for some time because:

1) Battery life is not much good when the Wi-Fi is turned on all of the time.
2) In bright sunlight (OK we havn't had much of that lately I know!) it was hard to read the devices outside.

Good luck.

Thank goodness for that! The first post I've been able to understand. :rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf:

PS what happens if you press button A or B? :onphone:
I fear you won't get your money back if you do the latter! :rolf:

Anyone else remember pressing button B before making the call, just in case..?

Can the Massoth interface with a Mac to use as the 'centre' hub? Or will it need to do it through a Windows emulator like Parallels on OSX
