I have fitted an LGB 55029 decoder into a small locomotive and it is working normally in its most basic mode, fwd /rear lights and some sounds. I want to connect a roof top flashing warning light to one of the function buttons. My problem is the manual is written with the assumption that the reader understands fully how this works, not the case for me.
I think i understand function mapping but I don’t understand how to allocate an action (flashing light) to a function button.
If, for example, I want to use button F3 to switch on a blinking (rotating) roof light, I assume I connect the light to an AUX output say No 1.
1.The output of the AUX 1 is 18 volts so I either use a resistor or there is some procedure to reduce the output Voltage?
2. I assume F3 is CV 37? Which should be set to CV 37 = 3? (Activator)
The manual talks about a line of CV’s and shows sequential numbers and the example goes from 34 to 37. This doesn't make sense as presumably I will be using CV’s dedicated to the other functions buttons. The example also shows the use of the same CV twice which certainly doesn't make sense.
CV ?? For stipulation (presumably 0)
CV ?? Value = 82 for AUX 1
CV ?? Value = 2 for blinking light
If I use CV’s 37 to 40 for the above how do I then use button F4 which I believe is CV 38?
Is there a simple document produced by the manufacturer with a better explanation or an idiots guide somewhere in cyber space?
I am sure this is reasonably straight forward when understood but impossible to fathom for a first try.
