First test of this loco. A bit Heavy on the regulator so a bit stop start. Looking forward to a full test run at the weekend (Welsh weather permitting!)
Yes it does. It rather surprised me when it took off so rapidly! Some quick adjustments to radio soon sorted that out and now it's running much more in line with the speed limits!
Next job is to swap over couplers so it can hook up to my rolling stock and haul a decent train which should also help keep excess speed in check
Very pleased with loco. Very easy to steam. I'm tempted by the other Accucraft Sachsen locos now
Not necessarily, it is new, so tight. It will ease out considerably as the mileage increases. I would try to give it continuous light load runs for an hour or so, then perhaps add some small (increasing) load for another hour or two, by then it will be a changed runner. After that perhaps consider a Slo-Mo.
The other thing that 'runs-in' is the driver, practice makes control easier and smoother. Driving is a learned skill like almost everything else.
Thanks for the advice. I'll enjoy getting the practice in. Running live steam is certainly more involving than turning the control knob on the digital control handset for an electric loco!
I looked at the slo mo website to see whether it might be possible. Easiest approach might be to fit one in some matching Sachsen rolling stock. Loco doesn't have much room between the frames so could be a bit tricky to get one into the loco.
Videos on website are very impressive. My Regner loco would be easier, particularly right now as it is having a new burner fitted and various other mods.
Next purchase likely to be the larger Sachsen tank loco from Accucraft which could be easier to fit Slo mo
