ABV

Please can someone tell me what ABV is (in relation to Maerklin/Trix decoder)?
I can't find a definition anywhere. What is it and what does it do? By default the decoder has F9 assigned to turn it on or off but I can't see any effect on my small test track.

ABV = Anfahr- und Bremsverzögerung.

According this manual http://www.rjftrains.com/technical/60942_62_en.pdf its something to do with switching in or out the Acceleration/Braking delay by the look of it. ABV is an artifical inertia/momentum effect.

As far as I can tell so far, enabling/disabling ABV controls whether or not the acceleration and braking values in CV3 and CV4 are applied.
