A Visit to the WGLR - A Video...

Nice video!

Great railway....

Thanks. Need to come back when the camera is fixed :bigsmile: just watched it back and i do like the "leaning over the fence" shot. As if a gscale walker is passing through the field and pauses to watch a train pass.

Nice video - it has a period feel to it like it was filmed on 8mm:thumbup:

Cracking video of Mel's line Ian do like the black & white footage :thumbup:

Nice work:thumbup::thumbup:

Excellent video with more than a whiff of the "Titfield Thunderbolt" camerawork at one or two places.

I noticed the shop beside the Narrows is run by W.E. Gorange. Any connection with a very similarly named department store that used to be near Victoria Station in London about 50 years ago???

No, It's a reference to QI (we're big fans) and the episode about things that rhyme with orange.

One of the other shops is a toyshop called Davis's - My local toyshop was owned by Mr & Mrs Davis when I was very young. That's where my inspiration for a miniature world probably came from. That and buying Airfix kits from Woolworths when staying at my aunty's. Remember when Woolies had wonderful wooden floors and the built up kits were displayed on peg boards?

The other shop is Maclaines the grocers which is where David Essex' character in the films That'll Be The Day & Stardust was bought up.
