A Day in the Life of Peckforton Station

Feedback I've had from the 16mm NGM forum indicates a few people found the caption animations annoying - they suggested having them fade in and out more discreetly. Did you find them obtrusive?

I must admit I agree Rik. The single words flying in and out drew my eyes away from the train.

Sounds like a Director's Cut may be required - either that or I'll store this info for future reference

Nope, the caption animations made no difference to my viewing pleasure at all. If anything for me the enhanced the vid, because the captions explained exactly what was going on.

Just watched again, and I suppose yes if being super critical, perhaps having the words appear individually is a little distracting (but now of course I'm looking for them).

No need for a directors cut, no animation or different sound effects - what we want is a Day in the life.. of Beeston Market or Bickerton ( if I've read the names correctly) ;D

10/10 for paying attention.

Thanks for the suggestion - I have already considered making one for Beeston Market. I actually starting shooting it last year but only got about half a day's filming in the can. Now, that might actually prove interesting, because since then, I've moved over to battery power. So, if I filmed the other half now, it would show how the locos have changed through the year ........... Hmmmm, velly intelesting.

Based on feedback, I've decided to make a second version of the video - with less obtrusive captions and some adjustment to the light levels towards the start and end. I've also included a train movement which somehow got missed in the previous version. I realise that some of the shots are canted, so I've sacked the cameraman. I hope you enjoy Peckforton Station - The Director's Cut.
