Reckon it looks abite rite! Being a self confessed T/A meself I could get tempted.

Cool!!! What was the wagon donor? Depends how much you care about such things but a train of these will look great. What scale is the container - would it be a cheap way of putting a train behind a 66?

Thanks Gents

The Container is Piko G scale sold as item No: 36300 my local shop does a 20% discount which works out at £23.44.

The wagon is the lowsider from ChinaNeqdoda which are bought as a pair for around £26.

I am tempted not to do anything with it.

Somewhen soon Piko are about to release another Container in white 'Safmarine' Part No: 36301

The white coupling spring is a dead giveaway, it's a Newqida. They come in pairs for around £30.00 the pair when you can find stocks,

Thats how you spell it, Thanks Neil:thumbup::bigsmile:

I thought containers were on the expensive side, as well, so scratchbuilt three in all of various sizes and types from, yes, Plasticard..

One of the containers is modelled with a roller shutter door, the other two with conventional doors - none of these open. The finish is Ford Inca Yellow, with a generic 'Euro' post branding created by Chris Moxham. Chris has also produced a set of NATO transfers for me, and I have yet to produce the ISAF containers for them. Given my present over-exposure to Plasticard, this could be a while yet.

Four months later and I have now managed to obtain the bits required to expand the Container Train.

I must say, the train looks great, Problem is when you shift these things day in day out you realise how big that container is, you would need a huge wagon to accomodate scale 60 foot in length (3 boxes) which is what is common. Though there are wagons which span just 40, foot.

This relating to UK I know nothing about continental Europe. Do they have wagons that just move 20 ft boxes in real life?

P.S. any one else interested in this idea, I did a review of the PIKO containers here:
http://www.gscalecentral.net/tm?m=58005&high=Container
Might help you to plan which wagons you use.

It also shows measurements, of model, and what they are in full size which gives you an idea of scale, as Ian asked earlier.
