Also the Aluminium stock used for the Blood and Custard rake were my spare cars, there is still a complete rake available for use in original form and when the lines are running 100% USA stock.  I can now change to entiirely BR style stock for a change when I wish, along with the Accucraft four wheel vans etc.

Nice set of locos and coaches. Mine are tucked up in the warm as well and my programme of winter servicing has now started - basically clean and grease/oil everything that moves.

....... You can see why I didnt get on well in 'OO' railway circles cant you? They dont like the wrong door handles on a Mark 1, this would never do. To me this is what a garden railway is all about...a bit of fun and relaxation :D

Exactly - I couldn't agree more.

Whenever someone comments about my deviating from the full size prototype, I tell them that my modifications are just what I would do to the full size prototype if I were lucky enough to own it. So my models do look like the prototype - it's just that the full size one hasn't caught up with the model yet .... :)

Any pics or links, Gareth? :)

Jon.

I can't find a single piccy of it John. Found his Inter-City liveried Piko Taurus and his LGB Virgin Pretendolino but can't find the 218.

It was Netty who had the two-tone green 2095 but it's seen service on Mike's, Mel's and Mark Biff's lines too (went on loan to various railways for a stint a few years back).

Alas the BR Blue 218 was posted up on the old GSM. I did repost the thread on GSC in 2009 but the pictures have gone from the thread. Shame, it was a stunner.

Any chance you could post a photo or link when you get a chance?

Hi all,

Been away from the hobby and the forum for various reasons that will bore you, so I`ll just say my ears were burning and thought I`d post the requested photos. I don`t want to Ijack this thread with my life story.

Very nice, Dave, thanks for posting them - as expected, the Class 218 really DOES look good in that livery! :)

Thanks for putting those up Dave. Just couldn't find that 218 and hadn't realised it was done so long ago.

The last of the 2015 season Diesel repaints into British Railways livery has just been completed. This time it was a high-nose SD45 which is now BR Class 19 D8374 and is allocated to haul the Pullman trains this summer. A short spell of sunshine coupled to a temperature the right side of zero resulted in a trial run this morning.

Just in case anyone thinks I am neglecting the Steam locos on the Branch Line, many of those are destined for BR Black in due course.  The ex Lynton and Barnstaple LYN , which has spent quite a few years in the `Pakefield Joint` colours of Chocolate and Cream has been outshopped as 37412 in Black but no longer carries a name.

Looking good as ever!

All these repaints seem to show that pretty much any g scale loco looks good in a British style colour scheme
