3D dieselette

Starting to assemble a small lok whose files I downloaded and printed at least four years ago. Call me Speedy.

The cab isn’t fastened in place yet. Much bodging to be done before that happens.
Maybe acquire a 3D print of Fezwig to adorn the driver’s bench ;)
Hey, I'd like to get the stl files of Fezwig so I can put him in one of my locos. :wasntme:

Now talking of files to download, whilst I don't have a 3D printer and It's very unlikley I will. I do have a member of the family who does and indeed has made the offer to print stuff if I so need. (There could be a catch in the offer, not sure.o_O)

The rub for me is the 3D section of the forum, I can see the resources/ topic listings but that is all, click on something and now't happens just a piece of text an otherwise blank text box, I must be missing a trick here, and you wonder why I don't have a printer.

Fiddly job I’d been putting off: assembling the IP basic chassis for 45mm gauge. Not a hard job for someone with clear eyes and nimble fingers, i.e., not me o_O

Punching one wheel off each axle, thread one spacer on, thread axle through chassis, second spacer, re-attach loose wheel, checking to make sure back-to-back is accurate. I have an Aristocraft track and wheel gauge, but the old eyes are a bit fuzzy :nerd:
The gear wheel on the driven axle took the clumsy fingers a minute or two to slide on .
However, it is together and the wheels roll freely without excessive sideplay :whew:.

Google "Thingaverse" and in the search put something like "G Scales Locomotive" also google stl finder and do a search in there.
All the resources that you will ever need.
I found points to print and they are working well so far. To use them outside I suggest printing them in PETG filament as it is UV resistant plus a coat of paint will help
