16mm live steam out of scale(or not!) with LGB stock.

Hi all,

New to this website, all looks great! I'm hoping for a little advice really.

I'm thinking of purchasing my first 16mm live steamer, a Roundhouse Lady Anne.

Was wondering how it's going to look lined up next to my other 'G' stock?

I'm guessing it will look ok with LGB bogie flat trucks, and the ra ndom looking field railroad type items.

...but what about LGB narrow gauge bogie coaches and standard size vans.

...and will it dwarf my other locos, like the U class?

Not quite a standard Lady Anne but I hope near enough to draw your own conclusion. :bigsmile:

  neil r -great pic -ove the vivid red coaches with the loco-did that person on the power line get fried?? -the black torso??? 


NH neil: is that a ballenburg coach behind the Barmer ? 
nice looking consist-does your ROV have the remote cyulinder cocks?
if so are they really helpful ?
 
Someone somewhere on the interwebs had a picture of some of the LGB 3062-type Austrian four axle steel cars (like the red ones above) painted, weathered and re-gauged to 32mm (cut the wheel "tubes" and move wheels into center) behind one of the colonial looking Roundhouse 0-6-2s Fowler tender locos.

The entire consist looked very good, very colonial, and VERY narrow gauge.

Given that Lady Anne is not a model of anything and therefore the scale can be what you want it to be within reason ? it will look fine. Many locos on the narrow gauge will overtop the stock but I don't think you will find it will even do this. Just a suggestion and no doubt you have already thought this through, but if you are running with Continental rolling stock would not a Billy look more at home? Either way do buy the Roundhouse droplink and combination lever set as supplied on the more expensive locos. It is cheap, easy to fit and makes the running/valve gear look so much better

Hi Steve

Yes, I have a couple of them, and some green RhB 4 wheelers too. It's my 'green set' !!! The Barmer coach is green now too.

The VoR is full spec, the drains are useful in keeping things clean when you start, or for taking atmospheric photos!! I hardly use the whistle, but visitors love it!!

Superstructure sizing is pretty much identical to the Lady Anne.

Thanks John - it was used by Tag in my article in GR last year.....as a sort of background to some text. It was taken (I think, if I recall) in February 08 on a crisp, frosty morning.
