OK, so a bit of blood, sweat and tears tonight as I start my embrace of the dark arts, and being reminded of a cartoon from Dos for Dummies where it says "You cannot break your computer" - which is not strictly correct, except you have to try really hard and almost know what you are doing to format the hard drive.
Last night I was reading about LGB Mts 3 vs Massoth, and there was an entry about LGB only allowing 12 functions per locomotive. The Navigator of course has 16 available buttons. Then I look at the Massoth XLS decoder book (version 2.5 - 01/10) page 34 - CV table (sound settings), where it talks about in the notes 1...12 = F key assignment: sound will be triggered by the respective F-key.
Does this mean 12 sounds, or 12 functions if using the Dimax Navigator?
I'm beginning to think it is 12 sounds ?
I did set CV49=2 before getting the additional sounds below, as I need to do this to get the use of the F buttons above 12? (Now seems to give me braking sounds for a while when I put the loco on the track but I can live with that).
I've just enabled the bell (F15), ticket announcement (F13) and generator (F10) on the Massoth XLS 8210100 - Small steam loco (stainz).
Having to program via the Dimax Navigator at the moment, and I assume the reason that I don't see the current CV value on the programming display is the lack of two way feedback, but I can write CV's since I'm at version 1.70 software.
Any comments from those further on in the dark arts ?
Chris
