I have a couple of 10 Amp power supplies but am having problems finding analogue DC controllers to work with them, now than Aristo-Craft have gone. 5 Amp are readily available but nothing more it would seem. Does anyone know of any new or used being sold in the UK or Europe?
 
Have you tried Helmsman? They don't list a 10-amp controller as such, but they do supply a massive 30 amp unit, so they MIGHT be able to help with a controller for your 10 amp supply....?

I suspect that part of your difficulty might be due to EU regs, which I believe prohibit anything over 5 amps for anything that might fall under the "toy" category.

Greg, the OP already has his power supplies - what he's looking for is a controller to go with them......

The trackside Revolution (base unit) is probably the biggest bang for the buck for an analog speed controller.
I have one of the earliest units that has run trouble free since new.
It does require a bulk DC supply to operate.
AND it's remote radio control.
 
Here is the Train engineer revolution track side system to control the whole layout with no individual control ......
There are also smaller receiver boards for installing in each loco.... the handset can control multiple locos individually and/or consisted together (if they have the boards installed) .
It is a price but is very flexible and the individual loco boards come equipped with good quality digital sound.

I'm just looking for a simple controller, power supplies are no problem just the controllers. I can't afford to fit all my locos with decoders and don't really want the hassle of programming them.

I thought they were not available anymore once Aristo-Craft / Crest went.

I have one of there 4.5 Amp units but there is nothing between that and the massive 30 Amp.

OK - just wondered whether, being a small company with a very good reputation for customer service, it might be worth you contacting them anyway with your particular needs - you never know, they might be prepared to supply you with a custom unit....?
Never hurts to ask (and an enquiring email costs nothing), the worst they can do is say no or just not answer you!

So Aristo/Crest/Revolution never went away...

Crest was an independent company long ago, right about the time Lewis Polk was afraid that the LGB suit would bankrupt him.
So when Aristo went under, Crest continued... still owned by Lewis.
Then finally it was purchased by the original designer. Navin, who has worked for Aristo as long as I can remember is part of the company too.

So, not really risen from the ashes, never went away, just changed hands, and survived the demise of Aristo.
