Just had this sent to me courtesy of Garden Railway magazine.
It is a model of the Japanese D51 steam loco in 1:24th scale all in brass and white metal. total cost is $115
It is supplied in 12 monthly sections and has to be soldered or glued together.
It has lights and sound but no motor.
Wouldn't it be great if they did some US locos or some European ones and then someone worked up a motorised chassis design etc....a complete fully working brass loco for maybe the equivalent of around £300.
Yes it is only 1:24th scale so that would not suit a lot of folk but for the price...... a nice project
