XLS in analog mode

Just dropped an XLS decoder in a loco, and all is fine under DCC.

When I run it on analogue, the sound is very fast, and starts well before the loco moves.
Searching the Interweb brings up two threads on here, neither of which seem to have a resolution. - The more general Interweb infers that a 'S' card will work correctly, but an XLS will not.

Not that it should matter, but the XLS is loaded with the 'Heidi' files.

PhilP.

Is it supplied ready for the heidi. Look at CV2 - starting voltage.default 2
CV29 - 4 is it set for analogue and digital

No it wasn't..
This is a 'standard' XLS I am fitting. - To paraphrase; "A terser work for masochists!"
Both the above CV's as stated.

Do you have the facility to download sound files? if so it may be worth trying a different file.
I had a frustrating experience with a Massoth LS decoder that wouldn't produce acceptable sounds with one particular file on analogue but was fine on digital.
In that case the solution was to replace the LS with an XLS using the same sound file.

Yes Neil..
I am also getting a 'spare' XLS by midday. - The one I am using at present has been back to Massoth at some point to be 'repaired'..
I don't believe in coincidences, either.. ;)
