Just about recovered from taking my display to the show Saturday - and getting it all back in the house!

Good turnout and people seemed happy throughout the day so that's a sign that we put on a good show!

Met 'Beavercreek' Mike who had traveled all the way from Essex and had a good chat about things, he suggested I should post some pictures of my stuff, only had my phone camera with me and it was a bit dull in the area of the hall where I was but here are a few shots.

Excellent stuff Allan. It was good to see your stand and it was great to chew the fat and find out the various connections we had with our modelling and ideas.
 
Greg, the main layout is about 2m wide and 1.8m deep in total, the depth at the mine building is about 0.8m. At this show I was using three 1.8 x 0.7 tables as you can see in the pictures so was able to put the log loader and other models alongside the main layout part.

Thanks. That's bigger than I thought.
 
Dave, I built these over ten years ago, been searching for pictures and discovered that my cd's are not reading on this computer so need to sort that out!
I have found one which shows how the 2-4-4-2 was made before it was painted.

Chassis are brass strip using LGB motor and Bachmann wheels. Body is built around a plastic waste pipe in plasticard. There are brass brackets hidden which the chassis blocks pivot on. The secret is making the structure strong enough by laminating layers to form the backbone of the model - I pick them up by holding the smokebox and rear of the cab, the blocks hang off of this in the same way as a diesel loco truck do.

Excellent builds,would like to see some close ups of that log loader;););)
