What happened at your workbench today?

Err,what were you saying about sold into UK ? Oh right, be amazed :D Installed in 2 x Bachmann K-27 & Climax of mine 2021. He could get round the issue of PWM & old Sierra sound cards. That and he kindly supplied the "chuff inverters" for the K-27's. Lovely guy to deal with. So sad he passed. Also "inherited" and even older set up (min 27 years) of his with my Goose #7. Replaced with yours ! Ironic or what ? That's going in my Connie, even found the right cable so I can hook up a sound card (buttons are on the handset). Max

Set up in my K-27's and Climax

What came out of the Goose #7, one on the left, and is going in the Connie.

I had one of those RCS setups, bought for remote control of my 0 gauge analogue layout. Never got round to using it and sold it via 16mm society where some one was requesting one. Another box out of the workshop!

No reason I can't send to Australia..

Always amused me that Tony Walsham sold into the UK and I sold into Oz. - Basically the same kit, in slightly different iterations..

I have something on its way to Stafford QLD, at the moment..

Will keep that in mind. Rough idea of total cost to QLD I'm just up the road from Stafford, well 4 hours drive.

Well... Bundy is just up the track from Brissie... only 400km or so.
From my perspective it's "just around the corner" with an RX-8.

Card without the screw terminal blocks, £70.00.
With screw terminals fitted, £75.00.

Carriage (price-rise due) £20.05

Internationally, I normally take payment in US Dollars (via PayPal) so have to factor in their exchange rates. :worried:

Bonza!

"What happened is going to happen at your workbench today sometime in the future!”

Thanx @PhilP

Thanx to Admin for sorting out the photos hiccup!

Like a few others I've taken the opportunity to update my avatar picture. My family (and I as an 8yro) used to travel the Main North Line to Tenterfield near the QLD-NSW border on steam trains from Sydney. That left a lasting impression on me. The Victorian-era station is now closed and the Main North Line terminates at Armidale. Before it closed in 1990, I managed to photograph the station track diagram adjacent to the switch levers. I'm glad I did - because the original is now long gone.

To explain the previous photo - @PhilP has supplied some R/C bits, with me to now source batteries and etc. locally here in Oz to convert my original 1996 Stainz to R/C battery-power. I'll be following @ge_rik 2016 LGB Stainz with trail car guidelines - seeing as how this is my first effort and I'm not too keen on disembowelling my 1st Stainz!

So to celebrate photos re-appearing: A map of the NSW Main North Line, the Tenterfield station track diagram, and its associated switches.

Question: Can anyone elucidate what the two clock-like things are above the switches please?

Thank you!

Thank you!

With a quick Google and thanx to Ian and Chris I found a look-a-like !

Tyer's "F" is a superior English build and probably a lot more flash than a country NSW station could afford, but it looks like the same principle for the UP line and the DOWN line.

Ha ha! No bells, handles, or polished wooden boxes for the colonies.
:)

Looking at the signalling/track diagram and as they are above leavers 2 & 3, they look to be "Signal indicators" for those signals as they probably can't be seen from the frame, I don't think they are "Block indicators" as with it being a single line, the block indicator would be built in to the "Single line token machines".

I found a bit of time, between domestic chores, to assemble the frame of the carriage shed being built to house the Claptowte Railway Christmas Special Wagon, built by the Engineering Department Apprentices. It will give an excuse to display the wagon on the layout at any time of the year, not just the Christmas period. They will also be responsible for the construction of the carriage shed to house their creation. As usual, with many of my scratch builds, I have an idea, but no real plan, and I design it as I go along. I think I have got a handle on this build, I just need to acquire the additional parts, which I am hoping to pick up at Stoneleigh, A week on Saturday.
