What does the chassis look like, I gather from boot lane. Also be good to hear how it runs.Putting a 'kit' together for the new Timpdon/Boot Lane Works Steam Rail Motor :

Runs like all the other Boot Lane Works chassis. Which is quite nicely.. They use the Bonnie wheels, so the whole thing is (by LGB standards) very light. It will traverse LGB R1 curves, but I have yet to try it on the tighter Playmobil curves. What does the chassis look like, I gather from boot lane. Also be good to hear how it runs.
Thanks Phil.Runs like all the other Boot Lane Works chassis. Which is quite nicely.. They use the Bonnie wheels, so the whole thing is (by LGB standards) very light. It will traverse LGB R1 curves, but I have yet to try it on the tighter Playmobil curves.
I will unpack it and post some pictures for you, a little later..

So those are the plastic ones? They use the Bonnie wheels, so the whole thing is (by LGB standards) very light. It will traverse LGB R1 curves, but I have yet to try it on the tighter Playmobil curves.

That should be 'Binnie', and yes, they are nylon(?) I believe..So those are the plastic ones?
Apologies, I didn't make myself clear. I was referring to the Playmobil track, the metal curves were LGB R1 curves whatever the box they were in said and the plastic ones are tighter. )Walter Turner used to call them R0.9.)That should be 'Binnie', and yes, they are nylon(?) I believe..
I will check..
<Edit> Wheels are glass-filled nylon (70% nylon, 30% glass-fibre)
Though the new model from Boot Lane Works 'Heidi' uses 3D printed wheels. - I believe these are printed in-house, but I do not know what material is being used.

pleease, never show us a heavily weathered model!I did a simple weathering scheme on it.
I like the dirt, not sure about the rust patches, Land-Rover body panels are made from aluminium.I got a landrover for my layout as well - this one is the lwb version from welly (1/24). It came pristine but I did a simple weathering scheme on it.

Yep, the rust should be on the side steps, the rear bumper/chassis member and possibly a bit on the front bumper. Perhaps a very small bit of rust staining running down from the door hinges.I like the dirt, not sure about the rust patches, Land-Rover body panels are made from aluminium.

For a moment you had me wondering whether "rain" was a typo for "train". The aging brain and all that....I just need the rain to stop
Yep, the cab is the major area that gives away its heritage - we just never did windows like thatI'm not going to do a build log for the Baldwin (you may say that I'm too lazy, but I prefer the Caractacus Potts analogy: lots of sawing and hammering, followed by a big reveal...), but here are the day's end photos:

The cab sheets are old laser-cutter test pieces, which is a hoarders redemption! (just don't mention the huge stash of useless tat that's been squirrelled away...); plenty of cutting and shaping has gone on, not that you'd know it: but that's the nature of our hobby, right?
