Hope to add a Phoenix PB11 sound card to my Rio Grande SD70 Heritage loco in the new year ,but the horn that's on the Phoenix web site for the Heritage doesn't sound right when you hear the loco on You tube . Would the horn be a Nathan 5KLA as used by Amtrak ??

Hi Richie.
There were many combination of SD70 and horns depending on model and line that they were used on.
The USA Trains SD70 is actually an SD70MAC (no flared radiators) which are painted for the heritage collection and these tended to have Natan M3 horns.
The 1:1 heritage versions are really SD70 ACE and later models and these did have some Nathan M3 but also Nathan KL5.

If you have a good bass speaker, the Phoenix sound board with the Nathan M3 does sound a lot better and does come close to the KL5.

Cheers for that Mike will check out the sounds of the Nathan M3 , shame they don't have a list of horns on the Phoenix web site , I remember when I brought the Sound traxx boards they came with a choice of 2 or 3 horn.
