Being mid winter rather than attempt to predict the weather the Wellington Garden Railway Group held a project and maintenance afternoon rather than the usual running afternoon. And yes the sun shone...go figure ::)

Gavin Sowry was doing some work on a signal to indicate polarity on his reverse loop, and several other activities also were taking place which I didn't get to record.

Ian Webb setting out the highlight of the day, his almost complete scratch built NZR McEwan Pratt railcar and trailer.
Behind him are a few of the goodies on Honest Murray's sales table.

The rest of the photos are of Ian Webb's almost complete Ian's NZR McEwan Pratt railcar and trailer coach modeled at 15mm scale.

The driver and control panel is one of the details still to be fitted.

Reverse view. True the NZR one was painted and didn't have a trailer, but too my eyes this is even better ;D

Close up of the railcar, fully scratch built using a mix of ply and timbers including Mahogany, Matai, Jarrah and Kauri. It is a true work of craftsmanship.

The louver door on the engine compartment slides, it will give access to the battery controls once fitted.

Just look at the craftsmanship and details!

The trailer coach is also beautifully detailed.
