UPDATE - NOW GOT ONE, THANKS! :)

Hi all, this is probably a bit of a long shot.... but does anyone here have an LGB Frank S in the original GREEN and black livery, that they would like to pass on to a new home in exchange for some pre-Christmas spending money...?
Having got the Nicki & Frank in blue, and one of the newer un-named versions in DR black, I'd really like to get hold of an original green one.
Please note I'm looking for the LGB electric version, NOT the LGB/Aster live steam one!
Good condition preferred please, box would be nice but not essential. I don't mind one that has seen some use, but prefereably not with broken or missing parts.
Cash waiting if you have one......?

Thanks in advance!

Jon.

PS: contact me either through the "conversations" thingy here, or if that is a problem feel free to email me direct at jon [at] gzg [dot] com.... removing spaces and replacing [...] with the appropriate symbols of course!

That's the one, Paul...... and yes, prefereably not weathered (unless it's just a bit of real dirt that will clean off).

Thanks for posting the pic.... I'm afraid I just assumed that anyone who had one would know what it was! ;)

Didn't it originally come with the bright "gold" plated handhold posts at the front corners and on the tender - did you remove yours?

Yes Mike, that's how I thought it should look....... so, aside from all the smug types posting pics of their own ones that they don't want to part with <GRIN!>, does anybody actually have one they might want to sell....? ;)

Funds are waiting.... just think, you could buy the Missus something extra-nice for Christmas and then have peace and goodwill all year......

Yes Jon, I removed the gold bling parts or weathered them, Marklin have made progress in that respect, they don't fit bright gold plated parts anymore. (As on the recent black version below)

But you knew that already.....

Yes Paul, my DR one is the new type with the greatly toned-down details - but if I can find an original green one I'd like it to still be in factory condition, I think..... I know the "bling" makes it look a little bit toy-like but I still quite like it "as Wolfgang intended"! ;)

Thanks! Just sent you a PM (sorry, a "conversation") in reply..... :)

Jon.

Thanks Steve - still waiting to hear back from meiningen8, I will get back to you when I can.....

Jon.

I have not received an email have you got my email address

Hi, I didn't send an email - I sent a "conversation" through the forum, which has replaced what used to be called "Private Messages" - if you go to the little square-with-arrow symbol at the top right of the forum pages, and click on that, it should open your conversations window!

If you could read the message and get back to me, then we can talk - or if you can't access it, please send me a direct email to: jon AT gzg DOT com......

Thanks,

Jon.

Thanks to those of you who answered, but I managed to find one via German eBay..... an absolutely perfect (and I mean MINT, I don't think it's ever been on a track from the look of the 100% pristine skates and wheels) example, complete down to the original clear plastic wrap over the loco and the little ampoule of (very old) smoke oil!
A smidge over £350, plus about £12 to ship it!

I may at some point drop the covers off the gearboxes and make sure the old grease hasn't deteriorated, but on the test rollers it runs just fine - it looks to be genuine NOS (New Old Stock) rather than second-hand.

Extremely pleased with it! :)
