I have just got round to finishing 2 private owners wagons. The one on the right is an IP Engineering kit, painted in Halfords red primer and the transfers (deliberately trying to look worn, not just badly applied) from DJB. The one on the left is completely scratch built, the only purchased parts are the wheels (left over from a dead LGB coach) and the transfers. The axle boxes are made from the springs inside the chopper couplings. The body etc is from wood, and the brackets are thin sheet metal cut and bent. I then punch it from behind with a small nail, and the squash it a bit in a vice. They are not quite as detailed as the commercially available ones, but cost virtually nothing!! The whole wagon cost me under £15 including the transfers - good value in my mind.
