W&L GALA TO COMMEMORATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF PRESERVATION 30 AUGUST TO 1ST SEPTEMBER 2013

Here are some photos taken on Friday. The Gala had 3 steam engines in operation, The Earl, The Countess and Joan and the ex Taiwanese Diema diesel.

There was a comprehensive service on Saturday and most trains were filled close to capacity. At 4.00pm there was a reenactment of the last train.

They done well to get two showman's engines seeing at it was Great Dorset steam fair weekend. ........

Hmm, now I know who Rob Bennett modeled for one of his Busy Bodies. Just take a look at the chap standing on the front of the loco in the sixth photo. :laugh:

As well as Morris' Sentinal, there was a Foden, and a Stanley steam car.

I rather enjoyed a glass or too of Boiler Treatment.
