Viaducts!

Hi All,

Somewhat inspired by PhilBahn's current thread I was wondering if we can start a dedicated vidaucts (of all types inc trestles and big bridges etc) picture thread and get as many on here as possible.

I really want one in my layout at some point so this would be helpful as well as an enjoyable thread to broswe...

As yet I don't have one so over to someone else to kick off!

Here are 3 pictures of my Concrete cast Viaduct. I have cast this from a Mold that I made when I lived in Luton and is in effect the second one that I have built from this Mold. This time I built it a bit longer using a part Mold to go on beyond the 4 arches of the basic Viaduct. The current version has 8 arches as can be seen from the rear view in the last picture.
No doubt some of you will remember this from my other postings in this and the G Mad Site.

I'm too much of a coward to cast my own, so my new viaduct is constructed from Cain Howley's excellent mouldings plus an LGB girder bridge section. It's height is limited, not only by the height of the rest of the railway, but also by the need to be able to step over it to reach the far side of the garden.

The complete structure is just over 6' long.

My latest under construction.....would like to do a "Brusio" style viaduct but think I'll stick to something more simple....the thought of making a curved mold on a falling gradient for the distance I've got is, I think, a little too ambitious:thinking:

Don't remember the elf in the yellow hat doing much:rolf::rolf:
Hmm, small dude, yellow hard hat, hi-viz vest? Can only be one thing: Elven safety :rolf:
Noticeable by their absence in December...they go to help the big guy with the red boxes
And did you know reading Tolkien can be Hobbit-forming? :rolf:
Oh, it's time for me to go, Mel's bringing my coat
