Keep seeing adverts for this stuff and a lot of it found on EBay, anyone have any experience? This is just an example but there must be many options.

Looks brilliant, if it works

Basically the glue used by dentists.. But repackaged.

Permabond UV610 is a brand..

I’ve used it for some things around the house. Easy to use and holds up well. Not sure I’d use it outside though.

Time moves on with only Martino only one to admit using it. Any more out there given it a go?

One of the adds I have seen shows a few block paviour bricks glued together and used as a ramp for a car so looks to have possibilities. Perhaps in a few years we may be using nothing else?

Problem is it will only cure where UV light can penetrate. Great where it can be used like many modern adhesives but has limited applications. Sorry for the pun.

I've just used some Jon, but not a Railway orientated job. The scuttle below the wipers on SWMBO'S VW Golf was split by an over-zealous mechanic attending to a dodgy wiper motor. Rather than let him infict further damage I elected to tackle the repair. The split was about 15 inches long and had opened up. I held the two sides together and dribbled the glue into the crack, then shone the UV lighty bit on it. Due to the length of the repair it was easier to 'tack' it in a few spots first, then do a complete sweep to cure the remainder. I must admit I didn't hold out a great deal of hope, but it did actually work. I read somewhere that the plastic used by LGB was akin to that on car parts so if it is the case then when I have time I will attempt some outstanding repairs. I've tried it on a couple of plastic figures with good results. I bought it on eBay for £2.29 including p&p so wasn't really fussed if it wasn't any good. You don't get a whole lot in the tube - probably a little less than the small superglue and a word of warning - it gives off fumes which do smell somewhat. Anyway I will be buying some more.

I'm sure Gorilla brand will come out with their version, just as they have with duct tape, caulking and other things. Now that I have been interrupted by the boss, I have lost my train of thought. So I leave it at that.

I finally managed to get around to getting some of this stuff, ordered on Wednesday 6th and just dropped through the letter box. Will be trying it out soon in the Red loco with sundry details. Cost me 4.94 for 2 packs, I made very sure that the supplier was a Uk one ”sophie_outlet”. These days not worth savings on stuff from China direct as you never know till things settle down what is likely to occur to them in terms of time taken to arrive or what Po or Customs may do.

Have used this a few times now on odd raikway related projects. Certainly appears like stuff to a Witney blanket. Todays use has been on an old Galvanised Watering Can that has always had a leak round the spout, but as ever because it was such a nice thing I had been reluctant to chuck it out. Used some if this round the leak and it has sealed it perfectly so now the can has taken up residence in the front garden for the 2 odd pots that I have out there.

Quick update to my post of 14 months ago - that repair has held with no apparent deterioration despite the moulding being under constant stress due to it's curved nature. As Monica used to say "oyl give it foive".

I think you are thinking of Monica Rose, who was in Double Your Money with Hughie Green.

Another quick update. Just used some of this to mend an LGB Gernrode wagon chassis - absolutely rock solid repair. I bought three more tubes recently. Link below if anyone's interested.

Yup brilliant it most certainly is, that is the stuff that looks like wot I got.

Never heard of this before - thanks for the link! I’ve ordered some - I like having many different glues in the arsenal and this one sounds really useful!
