USA TRAINS 20 Ton Switcher

I don't own one. However the only thing that someone posted about them, some time ago, was that the truck springs seem to be alittle weak. When the loco is starting or stopping, it rocks forward and back.

I think you'll ind that they only come in starter sets now. They are superb little loco's, pull really well.

We have 2 of them

These have been out of production for a while and I doubt whether you will find any new ones. You missed two on Ebay form Rails of Sheffield last week. You do sometimes see them around second hand at exhibitions etc.

My recommendation is to go for the NW2 which is still in production. The 20 tonner is merely a ficticious loco using the cab and front end of the hood from this loco anyway.

Cyrrent NW2s in stock at USA Trains . In theory Dragon G Scale should be able to get you any of these in about two weeks.

I have a little 20 tonner available and it can have USAT knuckles (or any other type of knuckles) put on it. If Duncan doesn't want it, does any one else wants to give the little 'un a home.

No
it is the short hood and cab section of an RS3. The Aristo centre cab switcher is actually a double ended little critter !

Aw, don't you go upsetting the little fella saying he's not a proper loco, might have to go give him a run out now!

i have NW-2 usat for sale.....unrun and unused for 2 yrs.....it come with everything....
southern pacific.....drop me a line....thks u.......

P,S,it been stored in my wardrobe for long time...............hope u or he mite like it..it come with knuckle couplers in a spare bags......everything inside the box.....exellent.........

hmmmm, wonder where to get a starter set......
You can still get 20 Ton Units on E-Bay pretty regularly. They run well, but there's really no room to install a sound board or speaker. Right now USA Trains does not have them in production.

Never say never :wait:, I have a speaker and sound board in this:

And in this:

It just take creativity:

invisible from the outside, yes: The decoder is under the seat in the Casey Jones by Berlyn:

I don't have pictures of the installation of the Casey Junior by Accucraft, but speaker in the coal load I added to the back.

HO decoders in these cases, but 2 amp decoders are plenty small. That's another reason I am DCC, I have been able to get it into the smallest locos, while there is absolutely no room for batteries.

Nicely detailed model..
Berlyn - new manufacturer to me.. Will have to see what they do.
