I was shopping for various bits on AliExpress, and spotted this thing. Advertised as 5amp 8 functions G scale DCC decoder. Clearly it is a knock-off of branded product, but it was £25 delivered so I decided to give it a go.

I'll try identify it tomo with my sprog dcc programmer, but just wondering maybe someone know what is it?

Photo of both PCB sides below - clearly no branding.

The item shown is a LaisDcc 880001 G-Scale/O-Scale 5A Motor Decoder with Hard Wire.
  • Model: LaisDcc 880001
  • Scale: G Scale / O Scale
  • Current Rating: 5 Amp
  • Functions: 8 function outputs
  • Features: Screw terminal interface and compatibility with "Stay Alive" kits
Retails at about £50+ in UK.

Update - it indeed seems to be LaisDcc 880001 - and in JRMI DecoderPro it find that it is LaisDcc, however model has to be selected manually. All CV can be read an written, so everything seems to be working. I do not have a DC loco to test, but once i have one - I'll test on real loco and provide results.

At £28 delivered for G-Scale 5 amp decoder it is a steal. However, in best Chinese traditions documentation is almost non-existent, and what i found is poor. I won't recommend this for a beginner, but for a confident user it may be a good budget friendly option.

However, i shall test it in loco on track first - then i'll draw a conclusion.

And, yes, not £25, it was £28 delivered, 25 was before delivery cost.

Just received this reply from Stanley at LaisDCC

"Dear Robert,

Below is the connection 'wiring diagram'. For configuring CV's you can use the same one on the website (link as below).

i am also pretty certain guy is not Stanley, the only laisDCC legal document i found is this, so i think it is a chinese company without any legal presence in UK or USA, or EU. they also sell only on aliexpress, so yeah, probably not Stanley. I've seen chinese sellers adopting western names before, quite standard practise in China.

The wiring diagram is not on their website . . .

Big Deal! So he has an avatar! At least you got the information you were bleating about.
Not a big deal at all, but lacking a legal entity in target countries likely means issues with warranty etc, as with any direct Chinese vendor. however at that price point i'd won't be too concerned.
