The Presidents Car commission cars were designed with that in mind, if I am not mistaken, in order to boost ridership.tramcar trev said:Hmmmmm or maybe simply the mechanism is broken?Madman said:I noticed that on the Milan tram, there appears to be a rope attached to the pantograph and leading down to one side of the tram. I have not seen this before in any tram photos. Would it be for raising and lowering the pantograph manually?
One thing is for sure; If Portugal goes down the gurgler can I have first dibbs on the trams???
Im wondering how much psychology goes into designing new trams. Does the design team think that if they look fast more people will travel on them or do they just want their trams to look like Ferraris?
Trev, I will dig out the gen on the building, it was rebuilt brick, by brick, (all numbered) a few years ago . The tram shed was originally on the Birmingham road to West Bromwich, not far from the West Bromwich Albion football ground. N.B. the Black Country Museum has the only three foot six inch gauge, museum tramway system, in the UK Alyntramcar trev said:The Black country museum looks very smart. I do like the 2 road depot building, I wonder if they would feel flattered if I copied it for my tramway?
There is someone making Melbourne W class cars in HO I believe there is a Sydney R or R1 available in HO in kit form. There are I'm reliably informed some people who make other Sydney cars (non motorised) in O for commercial consumption. Of course there are scattered affianados that scratch build all manner of Ozzy trams but the problem is this is such a huge place and we are so scattered that we rarely come across each other maybe see a picture in a model shop or such..... I know of no other person in the country running trams under overhead outdoors, I wish I did, 2 brains are always better than one. Heaps of outdoor G scale railways and some quite sizeable clubs.....themole said:Trev, is'nt there a firm the makes OZZY trams in Ozz? scale 1/43rd or 1/50th Alyn
