Trains at Gav's. January 2017 WGRG Meet

I hosted the first WGRG meet of the year at my Taita Gorge Railway today. Here's some of the pics, in no particular order.

First up, Phil's yellow railtruck,

Massive difference in scale - first time I've seen a direct comparison!

Nice set of pics from a fun day. I also liked to see the difference between 7/8 and our scale. As I look out of my bedroom window on a grey, miserable rainy day your sunny pics give thoughts for our spring which is getting closer by the day. Plus my booze free January days are getting less too!

Interesting how just getting down a bit lower changes to look.

Meanwhile "out back" (the return loop in the rear garden which trains get to by passing right through the railway shed) my LGB field railway O&K loco and train of Binnie skips look a bit dwarfed by the LGB skips.

Gav tells us this is SWMBO's beer car train

Sounds reasonable to me. And behind the garden fence runs the full size version that what Gav & Ben works for

Meanwhile my train has made it round into the main railway...

...passing the Four Square store.

Later I steamed Otto, who was a tad temperamental in the gentle but swirling breeze.

Out Back again.

I know it is an effort to post the pics and do the write up, but much appreciated by me and the rest of the Forum I am sure. Great set of pics of a tidy line. Makes one realise the joys of a ground level line. Wish I and my Operating Tram could still manage one.

My foremost tip for a neat garden is mowing strips, a good lawn mower, and something to trim the trees with.
If it's brown, it comes down.

I use a hearth broom to keep my ballast in shape.
