No worries mate?
I'll order a TL motor from Glendale next week....

No issues at all with the TL point motor so far after a year in service. It survived the winter without requiring any attention so basically a thumbs up.bunnyrabbit03 said:Peter (Whatlep) uses one outdoors, so it might be worth checking with him how he is getting on.
Gizzy - CV20 blocks/unblocks programming of all CVs. DO NOT attach the motor to a DCC track until you have programmed it! Have a shufti at my review which contains CV setting advice here: http://www.gardenrailwayclub.com/track/train-line-45-point-motor---product-review-july-2011Gizzy said:New motor received, and it's a big brute, about an LGB motor and a half in width!
Looks like my observations about the throw of this motor was correct.
Instructions are only in German; I can do tourist and technical Deutche, so I should be able to get the gist of how to program the CVs. CV 1 is the address, CV 40 the direction 'Stellrichtung', CV46 is 'Stellgeschwindigkeit' which I think is the force or pulse timing and CV 20 is 'Programmiersperre' which I think is what you set to program or to save CV settings.....

It has a nice slow action, taking about 3 secs to change, very similar to the point motor I have fitted to Hardyard, instead of the clunk of the LGB motors. The longer throw was no problem, working 'straight from the packet', and I did not have to jiggle the mechanism as you sometimes have to with the LGB rack and pinion motor to get the throw working correctly.
At £36 each for a ruggedised digital motor, I reckon these are good value when compared to the cost of an LGB motor with a 55024 decoder. In fact, I am considering purchasing another to fit to a LGB R1 point at the back of the pond (Quarry Lake) where any motor may get splashed by the fountain from time to time.

My only reservation is the size of these brutes. One thing is that you can't fit these on a pair of points installed 'toe to toe', unless you offset them. you will see on the pix that I have had to repostion the adjacent R1 point manual lever to the curved road. But that is a minor consideration that I can live with.

So my next question for you? Has anyone fitted the TL motor to a LGB (R1) point yet....

Hi Gizzy,
A very useful update, thanks.
Yes, two of my TL point motors are fitted to LGB R1 points - no problems at all, they worked straight from the box (well, the bag...).
