They are OK..

The 'Atmosphere' sounds can get a bit wearing after a few hours!

The effect comes from the capsule (obviously) so it depends where it is put.
OO with a locomotive noise from the third coach is just weird!

Not bad for a quick down and dirty sound system.

Has any body used one of these, and if so what do the think of them :)

Yeah, fitted one to my Rogers 2-4-2 'Horatio'.

It's fine indoors - that was its primary purpose for the Grandotter's first Christmas train last year - the sound isn't really strong enough outdoors.

The sounds are generic, but for what you pay, they're OK and certainly more realistic than some of the basic Bachmann sounds. Obviously I have the steam one, so when you switch it on you get the stationary hiss, as you move, the chuff labours, then accelerates, all very good. You get an occasional whistle, and you get spells when the train is 'at speed' and the chuff switches off for a spell while the loco coasts - all quite good really. It all slows down, when you slow you train down - if you stop too quickly, then you have to wait for the sounds to catch up.

The mistake I made was to have a 'tidy up' inside the tender and to fix the unit down with a sticky fixer - a bad move as indoors, on a constant circle, the unit can think that the train has stopped. Outside, with my track laying, not a problem :devil:
