train engineer wanted

Re:train engineer wanted

I have an orange one that I don't need. Brand new.

Beavercreek (Mike) had some for sale recently?

Might be worth a PM Marky....

If Mark doesn't go fot it, can you keep me in mind, please as I could be interested - though I'd need to hear what wavelength yours is as I need one that's different to the one I already have. Any thoughts on price?

I need some advice on price. Bought it new a couple of years ago and it is still unpacked. Will have a hunt for it tomorrow. I think it has an American type plug on it which will need changing.

Fred, you may need to ensure that your TE works on UK mains at 230 V AC!

If it has a US plug on it may possibly be only for use on 120 V AC, although it might be one of those suitable for a voltage range from 100 - 250 V AC....

Thanks Gizzy. I bought it from a fellow G.Scaler who assured me it was O.K. for this country. I will of course check when I find it.

Mark, should you wish you could use your existing remote to control a second base unit in addition to your existing base unit.

It a bit confusing referring to the mains plug as train engineers need 20 v DC

The basic orange version that Fred has comes with a small mains power supply. It consists of one of those plug in 'bricks' giving an output of around 20V at around 1A. It's PWM only, no linear, so not recommended for LGB MTS fitted locos.

I believe they were originally supplied with starter sets containing a 'Little Critter' diesel loco and a wagon or tanker, with a short caboose. Some of these set were in BP livery.

Its bigger brother, coloured black, has to be supplied via a PSU purchased separately, such as the Crest, or the LGB units....

If you're still looking for one Mark I've got one stowed away from when I went Digi. I'll dig it out over the weekend and make sure it's all OK.

Tis the black one BTW.
