I was musing tonight over the cost of point work. I have some plans for building points/turnouts/switches, although these do involve creating the frogs etc, which I feel may be beyond me at the moment.
I recall my father (in the '30s) built his own O gauge track (no points though) by using rail, wood sleepers and chairs. The latter he obtained from some specialist - probably common at the time when most folks built their own track.
Does anyone produce the various parts for creating track these days? Obviously there is rail available, and sleepers are not an issue, but how about chairs and pre formed frogs?
